P&O Iona Norwegian Fjords Cruise ....Embarkation ... Suite Treats.

So it was Saturday the 3rd of May 2025 and we were heading to Southampton to board one of our favourite ships P&O Iona , heading to the Norwegian Fjords . We had previously been to the Fjords on Sky Princess and had great time . We chose Iona because of the different itinerary and would be visiting two new ports for us Stavanger and Alesund .

Because we had booked a suite we had a nice early boarding time of 11.45 am .Our journey down to Southampton went very smoothly and we were soon waiting at the CPS car park to drop of our car and get on the ship .Check in went very smoothly and we were soon onboard and headed straight to the Muster station . We were told that the cabins would be ready at approximately 13.30 .

One of the perks of booking a suite is the fact that you are invited to a welcome onboard lunch held in the Pearl restaurant. This time we behaved and didn't over indulge with either food or drink . Our room was ready on time so we headed of to find Suite 11740 . It was at the aft of the ship ,another first for us ,we usually prefer to be in the middle.The room was stunning ,definitely an upgrade to the suite we stayed in on Britannia.

We headed out towards the Sunset Bar where we enjoyed a few more drinks and a chat with fellow passengers . At approximately 5.20 pm we were on the move and heading to our first port of call Stavanger .

That evening we enjoyed dinner in the Olive Grove Restaurant ,we booked this as soon as we got onboard as it tends to get very busy . From there it was on to the Clubhouse for Pearl to get her first look and listen to Pulse . Next stop was the Headliners Theatre to watch a production show before ending our first day onboard in the Crows Nest .

So a very successful first day was had and we were looking forward to relaxing on our first sea day .
