Work log: This was sitting in my backlog for 2 months.. dang, I'm sorry. I really didn't expect me to take this long. Long story short, life happened. I finally got some free time, so I rolled up my sleeves and spent the past weekend working on this clip bc as a VOD watcher, I've noticed a little bit of a Reine clip drought (or lack of Reine clips in my recommendations), which, if you know me, I can't really accept LMAO ((flashbacking to toxic pre-nini era))

Since I was pretty much overdue, ended up spending a little extra time editing this clip the past couple days. As I was doing the finishing touches, I noticed that this clip ended up involving a lot of my clipping specialties(?) (compilation of smaller moments, tons of references/pictures, text sources and effects). If you were to categorize my style, it's definitely more on the "informational/references" side vs. funnehmemes and edits.

Oh yeah, used a new font that looks pretty Pokemon-esque. It's Bangers from Google Fonts (open source). It's pretty good.

Something that I found pretty tricky is the beginning of the Virizion encounter when Reine walks around the pokemon. The screen spins around and is actually a little dizzying. I tried different scales (close/far) but I couldn't tell a difference bc I kept replaying it and still felt dizzy (clipper occupational hazard lol?). Added Reine window as a focal point, but it still felt a little overwhelming. So I added a blur to the outsides to reduce visual clutter and added some text in the middle to cut the spin some more. Then disclaimer. It's not too long of a spin, so I hope it isn't too bad. Sorry, I tried my best 🙇🏻‍♀️

There were a lot... A LOT of weird visual glitches too. Nothing wrong with my recording, but just the battle effects and the constant returning to home screen (black and color), so I ended up having to color key and fill in the blanks to make it more seamless. Oh yeah, also had to blur some parts of the background for ease of visibility (either add contrast or mitigate flashing).

I haven't made the thumbnail yet. I feel so rusty lmao.

Edit: I ended up going back and redoing the Smash or Pass montage with a blur bc I noticed some more flashing and decided to make everything consistent. Also haven't done the thumbnail yet loll.

Edit2: Spent 2 hours on the thumbnail. It's a little simple, but it's almost 2am rn and I can't think anymore. I hope it's not too clickbaity, idk, I just looked up Smash or Pass videos for reference and decided to mimic the format. Also thought this expression was super cute. ADDED A BLUSH THO... ON MR. DUMPY'S ASS. (did you think I was the kind of clipper to shamelessly put misleading blushes on my oshi? HAH THINK AGAIN). I PUT IT BEHIND THE PASS BECAUSE HEH IT'S AN ASS. HOW'S THAT FOR A THUMBNAIL??? MOM R U PROUD OF ME? ok I need to sleep. I might change the thumbnail if I wake up tomorrow and decide I don't like it. don't cancel me while I slep. pls understand.
