That’s Centennial Yards—an estimated $5 billion reboot of #Atlanta’s old rail “Gulch,” stitching streets back together between Mercedes-Benz Stadium and Five Points. Right now, crews are laying utilities, #rebuilding the street grid, and lifting new #structures where surface lots and sunken tracks once ruled. The first landmark, a 304-unit tower called The Mitchell, opened in late 2025, a preview of the mixed-use #skyline to come. By #2026, the plan pushes visible activation—plazas, retail, and more #housing—aimed at #WorldCup crowds flowing through downtown. The #engineering puzzle? #Building dense blocks next to active #rail lines, threading stormwater systems through a bowl-shaped site, and creating accessible streets on top of century-old viaducts.
