Scala 3 has finally been released this year and the Metals contributors are working hard to deliver all the features you are used to and think of new exciting ones that can improve the developers’ experience. Take a look what we have cooked up for you!
In this talk you can learn about all the new features and improvements for Metals that allow it to stand on its own as a fully fledged IDE for Scala 3. We will discuss all the current capabilities and limitations together with the plan for the future. A major part of the presentation will also show how Metals makes sure that Scala tooling is friendly to both newcomers and advanced users. Complex setup and tooling has always been a large obstacle in enlarging the community in the past but Metals tries to reduce that complexity and make Scala more approachable. We will try to highlight some additional interesting features, that might have went under the radar in the recent months.
