We talk about our stonemasons a lot; we are proud of the exemplary work they do to conserve our wonderful building.
We are also proud to be part of the Cathedrals' Workshop Fellowship, a partnership of fourteen Anglican cathedrals that offer apprenticeships to the next generation of talented craftspeople.
Here at the Minster our apprentices gain access to the incredible experience of our craftspeople and are trained in the use of emerging technologies we are employing to help us to conserve this fragile medieval masterpiece - the joining of traditional skills and modern tech encapsulates our new Centre of Excellence for Heritage Crafts and Estate Management.
Here, Freya talks about her experience after recently completing her apprenticeship: "It really highlights the work you achieve with just the human mind and hand. I'm so proud of the work everyone does here."
