I’m a 39-year-old Japanese homeless man, and this is where I stayed last night.
Internet cafés like this one aren’t just places to browse the web—they’ve quietly become shelters for many people like me in Japan. Some stay here for comfort. Some stay here because they have nowhere else to go. I wanted to share the reality behind it.
This is one of the most popular internet cafés in Tokyo, especially among people living on the edge. For me, it was surprisingly comfortable, quiet, and even had more space than I expected.
Let me take you inside this unique side of Japan.
