A World War II story set in late 1945, inside a real American POW camp in Texas.
In the aftermath of the war, a German woman held as a prisoner of war at Camp Swift quietly fights for her survival in a different way. The Red Cross is coming for an inspection. Her file says she is “married” – a lie she told to protect herself from abuse. If that lie is exposed, she could be transferred to a far more dangerous place.
On a cold, rainy night, she approaches an American sergeant and begs him for something impossible:
“Be my husband for one night.”
This video mixes historically accurate details about World War II POW camps in the United States, Geneva Convention rules and Red Cross inspections with dramatized dialogue and emotionally driven storytelling. It explores the moral grey zones of war: when following the rules can hurt real people, and when bending the rules may be the only truly human choice.
If you enjoy series like Band of Brothers or World War II in Colour and want deeper, character-driven stories from World War II, this is for you.
