In a nutshell, we're all different & there's LOTS of reasons people do kink (and, important to remember, sometimes kink is approached in unhealthy ways too) -- the above is just one of the many possible reasons we might be drawn to kink, but it's a big one! It also likely plays a role in our motivation much more than we realize.

Approaching or reframing play that incorporates ideas about the "why" behind it (even if you don't fully understand it or you don't want to delve that deeply into your own psyche) can make a huge impact on the success of your scenes & dynamics AND on your own enjoyment & happiness too.
