Volvo EX90 7-Seater EV SUV Ultra Twin - Gloriously Luxurious With Tech To Match

The 2025 Volvo EX90 was recently launched in Malaysia with a price of RM442,888. Some say it's the electric version of the XC90 but it's more than that. It has some things that the XC90 does not and vice versa but we think the EX90 is much better. Probably Volvo's best car yet.

As usual, no car is perfect and we there are a few things we'd like to see on this car e.g. a chiller, DVR, USB-C ports for the 3rd row, electric moonroof shade, a couple of physical buttons (for steering wheel adjustments) and a couple more.

Other than that, this car is very comfortable, has impressive range, super quiet cabin, LIDAR ready, 800V architecture, blinking headlights (gimmicky...but still cool), child booster seat, thigh support for driver and front passenger and I think it has V2H or something similar to V2L (check with your SA on this). Of course the list goes on.

In term of looks, it look pretty good but we wished Volvo had placed the rear wiper below the rear spoiler. Not only would it look better but it helps reduce dirt collection above the wiper blade. When dirt collects there, it spreads across the rear screen when it rains.

Volvo being synonymous with safety (but why does the EX30 not have a HUD?), The EX90 debuts the brand's most ADAS suite to date:

LiDAR sensor (by Luminar) mounted on the roof, with a 250m range
Five radars, eight cameras, and 16 ultrasonic sensors (glad that they're not just depending on cameras like a few other brands)
Volvo’s latest semi-autonomous driving tech, with future-ready capabilities

For peace of mind, all Volvo EX90 SUVs sold in Malaysia come with a 5-years/unlimited mileage vehicle warranty, an 8-year high-voltage battery warranty, and a 5-year Volvo On Call service subscription.
