Hauling meat back from the processor to our farm freezer wasn't the easiest task. We would load coolers with boxes, or open boxes and dump the packaged meat in, to only repack when we got home. It was also a challenge to move primals (a whole goat) since they were often too big for even the largest marine-grade cooler.
After looking at different options we went with a refrigerated trailer cooled by a Cool-Bot. The trailer allows us to easily load boxes of meat, and primals, at the butcher, and then unload them into our walk-in freezer when we get back to the farm. Because our meat is already frozen, the cool temp maintains the cold chain and keeps the meat frozen for our needs. It also gives us the flexibility to use it in the future for fresh meat deliveries.
