Following a landing incident in 2023, not too long after it was originally restored to flight, Wildcat G-KINL took to the skies again today from Duxford with Paul Bonhomme at the controls.
The aircraft is painted in the colour scheme of a Grumman Martlet (the name given by the British for the Wildcat) Mk.III from No. 805 Squadron of the Fleet Air Arm, Royal Navy who were based in Egypt in 1941.
It's great to see Europe's second airworthy example of a Wildcat back in the sky. Hopefully it's not too long before we see it displayed in all its glory at an air show.
