The Weather Around Us.

Cloudy weather is different. When the sky is full of clouds, it looks gray. Cloudy days are usually cooler and quieter. Some people like them because they feel calm. Others may feel a little sad or sleepy. Clouds are important because they bring rain.

Rainy weather is common in many places. Sometimes it rains lightly, and sometimes it rains heavily. On rainy days, people use umbrellas or raincoats. Rain makes the ground wet and fresh. It helps plants grow and fills rivers and lakes. Many people like the smell of rain and the sound of raindrops. But too much rain can cause floods, which are dangerous.

Wind is also part of the weather. A light wind feels nice on hot days. It makes the air fresh and cool. But strong wind can be dangerous. It can break trees or move objects. In some countries, strong storms with wind, like hurricanes, happen. People need to be careful in such weather.

Cold weather comes in winter. In some places, there is snow. Snow covers the ground in white. Children love to play in it. They build snowmen or throw snowballs. Snowy days are beautiful, but they are also difficult. Roads are slippery, and traveling is hard. People wear thick clothes like coats, scarves, and gloves. Hot drinks are popular when the weather is cold.

Summer is hot and sunny, with long days. Autumn is cooler, and the leaves change color and fall. Winter is cold, with snow in some places. Weather also changes how people feel. Sunshine can make people happy and active. Rain can make people calm or sleepy. Cold weather makes us want to stay inside, while warm weather makes us want to go out.
