Now is the time to TRUST THE LORD | Beautiful Prayer | 11/24/2025

HEAVENLY FATHER, I lean wholly upon Thee, for I am but dust and breath without Thy gracious hand to uphold me.

Strip my heart bare of every false support, and sever me from all dependencies save Thy everlasting arms.

Thou alone art my sufficiency, Thou dost reign over all, and yet delight to call me Thine.

Thou art the very bedrock of holiness, a fountain overflowing with perfect goodness in every drop.

Why then should I tremble when Thy eye never wearies, or doubt when Thy hand never fails?

In Thee is light surpassing the morning sun, and beside that glory all the world is dim as cinders.

As a man who finds pearls in the dust, so do I find no treasure in the applause of men.

Whether praises rise or trials descend, let me remain as a stranger passing through, quickened by Thy grace.

Perchance I be granted blessings by Thy mercy, yet let not my soul forget to love the Giver more than every gift.

Let me not become fat upon Thy bounty and faint in spirit, lest Thy kindness be my snare.

Grant me holy self-despair, that Jesus may be all my hope, all my worth, all my song.

Let Him be precious — more than gold, more than breath — radiant in office and matchless in grace.

May even His rod be sweet to me, and His paths, though steep, feel like rivers of delight.

Cause me to esteem His commandments not as yokes but as wings that bear the soul heavenward.

Let my heart not be deceived by imitations that wear the mask of love but hide the root of self.

Unmask every affection that joins man’s happiness to Thy dishonor, and call it what it is: hollow devotion.

Establish in me that love which seeks first Thy glory, for in Thy glory is man most truly blessed.

Tear asunder every alliance of soul that exalts benefit above beholding, and gain above giving.

Let me not pursue joy in Thee for joy’s sake, but for love’s sake, for love that has eyes only for Thee.

Teach me the love that costs as it clings, that bleeds as it blesses, like the woman who broke the alabaster box for Thee.

Deliver me from cold calculation and bless me instead with the fire that burns from heaven’s altar.

Set my heart ablaze with the pleasing passion of true love that finds its joy in pleasing Thee alone.

Open my eyes to discern truth from trickery, wheat from chaff, devotion from disguise.

Give me grace to sit at Thy feet and choose the better portion, unmoved by the clamor of lesser things.

Sustain me to rest in Thee, like a child wrapped in its father’s robe, for Thou art all love, and I am Thine.

Write this holy love upon my soul as Thou didst write the law upon stone, not by flesh but by Spirit.

Make me steadfast in the love that leans, the love that endures, the love that rises again when it falls.

By the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, I pray and declare, Amen.
