Prof. dr. Marko Tkalčič je doktorski študij zaključil leta 2011 na UL, na UP je zaposlen od leta 2019. Njegovo raziskovanje na področju modeliranja uporabnikov in priporočilnih sistemov, ki vključuje psihološke modele, je mednarodno priznano in odpira nove poti za razvoj inteligentnih sistemov. Aktivno je sodeloval pri organizaciji in vodenju prestižnih mednarodnih konferenc, kot so UMAP, RecSys in IUI, s čimer je dvignil ugled teh raziskovalnih skupnosti. Pomembno je prispeval k napredku akademskega založništva kot soavtor dveh ključnih knjig za raziskovalce, praktik na področju in s članstvom v uredniškem odboru Springerjeve revije UMUAI. Kot koordinator magistrskega programa Podatkovne znanosti na UP FAMNIT in predsednik Komisije za zagotavljanje kakovosti doktorskega študija je prispeval k razvoju in visokim standardom izobraževanja na univerzi. Njegovo delo predstavlja zgled odličnosti za širšo akademsko skupnost. Z visoko sposobnostjo jasnega komuniciranja kompleksnih idej velja za pomembnega zagovornika integracije psiholoških vpogledov v sisteme priporočil.

Dr. Marko Tkalčič completed his PhD studies at the University of Ljubljana in 2011 and has worked at UP since 2019. His research in user modelling and recommender systems, including psychological models, is internationally recognised and paves the way for advancements in intelligent systems. He has been actively involved in the organisation and management of prestigious international conferences such as UMAP, RecSys and IUI, raising the profile of these research communities. He has made significant contributions to the advancement of academic publishing as a co-author of two key books for researchers, a practitioner in the field and a member of the editorial board of the Springer journal UMUAI. As coordinator of the Master’s programme in Data Science at UP FAMNIT and Chair of the Quality Assurance Committee for Doctoral Studies, he has contributed to the development and high standards of education at the university. His work is an example of excellence for the wider academic community. Known for his ability to communicate complex ideas with clarity, he is a key advocate for integrating psychological insights into recommender systems.
