SHERINGHAM | Tour of FANTASTIC North Norfolk seaside holiday town of Sheringham
In this 4k Walking Tour we're going to take a walk from Sheringham Railway Station, famous for the Poppy Line North Norfolk Steam Railway and as a popular seaside holiday destination, before we head down down through the town centre and along to the seafront and Sheringham Beach

Sheringham is a quintessential English seaside town located on the North Norfolk coast, offering a charming and traditional holiday experience. The town's Blue Flag beach is a major draw, with its mix of pebbles and sand, especially at low tide. The promenade, lined with colourful beach huts, provides a lovely setting for a leisurely stroll, and at low tide, the exposed boulders create excellent opportunities for rock pooling. Sheringham's heritage as an old fishing village is still evident today, and you can even see local fishermen bringing in their daily catch of famous Sheringham lobster and Cromer crab.

Beyond the beach, Sheringham offers a range of activities for visitors of all ages. One of the most popular attractions is the North Norfolk Railway, or "Poppy Line," a heritage steam railway that takes you on a scenic journey through the stunning countryside to the Georgian town of Holt. The town center itself is a bustling hub with independent shops, tearooms, and pubs, and hosts a market on Saturdays and some Wednesdays. For those interested in the town's history, the Sheringham Museum tells the story of its people and maritime past, including a collection of lifeboats.

Nature lovers and walkers will find plenty to explore around Sheringham. The town is part of the Deep History Coast Discovery Trail, with its own discovery point on the promenade. For more expansive natural beauty, the nearby National Trust-owned Sheringham Park, designed by Humphry Repton, offers miles of walks through woodland and parkland with breathtaking coastal views. You can also climb Beeston Bump, a prominent hill, for panoramic views of the coast and surrounding area. With its blend of seaside charm, heritage attractions, and natural landscapes, Sheringham provides a perfect base for a traditional and family-friendly North Norfolk holiday.
