The GCR held their annual 'Autumn Steam Gala' over the weekend of the 2nd - 5th October, with a strong lineup of visiting LMS locomotives and a total of eight engines in steam. Taking centre stage at the gala was soon to be withdrawn 'Jubilee' No. 45596 "Bahamas" making one of its last visits to a heritage railway before it is withdrawn for overhaul. The 'Jubilee' was joined by LNWR 'Coal Tank' No. 1054 and LMS 'Mogul' No. 13268 from the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway and the Severn Valley Railway respectively.

An intensive timetable was put in place for the weekend with three goods sets, non-stop runs, double-headers, local services to Rothley Brook as well as evening services. The loco shed at Loughborough was also open to the public to view.
