Seychelles: An Ocean Unknown

The Badco team flys halfway around the world for their second trip to the Indian Ocean. The group plans to fish the outer islands of the Seychelles, just 150 nautical miles north of Madagascar. One of the most remote and untouched locations to date.

The first hiccup of the trip presents itself immediately upon arrival to Mahe Island, engine issues on the 175’ Badco Support Vessel. Anthony informs the team his arrival will be at least a week late. Leaving guest Carey Chen to fill the angling position. Local fisherman, Josh Worthington shows the team some local fishing grounds while the mothership undergoes maintenance.

After several sea trials the Support team locates the motor issue. A frozen valve on one of the engine turbos. After a quick repair the fishing team and mothership crew depart for Farcuhar Atoll, a remote atoll 400 miles from Mahe Island.

The fishing team will take the 43’ Release gameboat on its own bottom. Traveling for 3 days straight, fishing during the day and following the mothership at night.

The group finally arrives to Farcuhar island after picking up Anthony at an Atoll 40 miles away.

With little to no fishing information on the location, the fishing crew immediately gets to work searching all banks and ledges for any signs of Blue or Black Marlin.

The fishing is off the charts, the best the team has ever encountered in their life. But for something other than Marlin... Dogtooth tuna, Giant Trevally, and many other unique reef species.

After many days on the hunt for Marlin the Team decides to make a move. Searching other Atolls for signs of Marlin. After days of searching the boys finally found what they came here for...
