Our host is the Johnstown Train Station, part of the Johnstown Area Heritage Assoc. Discovery Network of attractions. The station is located at 47 Walnut St., Johnstown, Pa.
This is Norfolk Southern's Pittsburgh Line, the mainline of the former Pennsylvania Railroad (PRR) across their namesake state, from Philadelphia to Pittsburgh. There are approximately 40 trains per 24 hours over this line. The speed limit here is 55 MPH.
Amtrak's "Pennsylvanian" between New York City and Pittsburgh passes the camera twice daily (one round trip), including making a station stop here in Johnstown (station code JST).
There is no longer ATCS coverage for this segment of the Pittsburgh Line.
