https://myfreebluesguitarlessons.com Is where you can download a tab book with 7 complete instrumentals in Open G and Open D with sound files for FREE. No email, no catches :) Some FREE Blues Slide Guitar Video Downloads as well. Though I'm in Open G Tuning here, if you capo on the second fret you'll of course be in Open A Tuning. All these Muddy Waters "Mannish Boy" inspired Riffs are being played in Open G but he and his band were playing in standard tuning in the key of A.
You'll be able to play along with his more popular songs in the key of A standard tuning even though you're open tuned.
John Lee hooker is a different story. His tuning, though the intervals are in Open A Tuning, could be sharp or flat. He played solo a lot unlike Muddy Waters so he wasn't tuned to pitch. I just ripped off a part of "Boogie Chillin" and did my own thing with it.
These are just some recognizable blues riffs ingrained in popular music that everyone recognizes. So even people who aren't guitar players, or blues guitar players will know them when you play them.
They're fun licks and riffs to play around with and improvise around, or write your own songs. Just have fun :)
