‘You Do Not Weep Alone’
Written by Mark Malone & Chris Pierce on 10/14/23
We advocate for all those who suffer the ravages of war, particularly the powerless. The stark fact is, the majority of these are voiceless children.
Lyrics:
My heart is with the frightened boy
In the fallen house afire.
I don’t care what his name is,
Or his father’s national desire.
My heart is with the frightened girl
With her bruised and bleeding face.
I don’t care what her name is,
Her land, her tongue, or race.
The only thing I pray
That rises from my heart and bone,
Is that they somehow, somehow know
They do not weep alone.
You do not weep alone.
You do not weep alone.
Come fire, come storm, come steel, come stone,
You do not weep alone.
Whatever heads of state will say
Who’s won, who’s lost, whose flag will stay.
Does it matter anyway?
When bombs fall where children play.
The only thing I wish
That rises from my heart and bone,
Is that they somehow, somehow know
They do not weep alone.
You do not weep alone.
You do not weep alone.
Come fire, come storm, come steel, come stone,
You do not weep alone.
Come fire, come storm, come steel, come stone,
You do not weep alone.
