I spent countless hours searching darn near every US city in Delta's network for a deal on this flight. I finally found one from Daytona Beach, Florida that hit the mark. We begin this full flight at gate E3 in seat 20J — the bulkhead seat with unlimited legroom — and push back. After our engines spool up for taxi, we head for runway 27R. We line up and wait on 27R, then, once given our takeoff clearance, the Trents come to life and give us a great roar, and just a mere 25 seconds later, this bird launches skyward, climbing steeply and showing off ATL in all of ATL's glory! We climb out to the west, making a few small turns to get on our planned route to Los Angeles. Climbing over the rest of Georgia and the entirety of Alabama, we level off at 38,000 feet just as we cross into Mississippi, then cruise over the states of Mississippi, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona, then begin our final descent just past Lake Havasu City and glide down the rest of the way to the coast. We set up for a straight-in approach to LAX's runway 24R, then land solidly on LA turf, taxiing to gate 37A shortly after.
