Swayampurna Farms - Vlog 82 | Harvesting Groundnuts, Papaya Surprise & Monsoon Prep

Welcome back to Swayampurna Farms! 🌿 In this vlog shot on 1st May 2025, we take you through a hot summer day on the farm.

We start with a quick update on the weather and show you the stone pitching work around our house, done beautifully by our farm help.

This week, we’re harvesting our groundnut crop with the help of our farm help and his wife. While we have a good harvest, nearly half was unfortunately damaged by pests — possibly due to delayed harvesting and, as they pointed out, maybe an excess of cow dung manure this season.

As we walk around the farm, we’re happy to see all the plants thriving. And to our surprise — our papaya trees have started flowering! We even spotted two tiny papayas growing, which was such a joyful moment.

We’re also clearing Section One of the farm to prepare for the upcoming monsoon season. Half of our corn field has been removed, and we plan to clear the rest in the next couple of days.

And here’s the sweetest update — our two old mango trees are now heavy with local variety mangoes, known for their amazing taste. We can’t wait to enjoy them next weekend! 🥭✨
