Beautiful 1979 Benge 5X Trumpet! ACB Show & Tell with Trent Austin

[Link in description] Here's an AWESOME Benge 5X trumpet we have for sale at the shop! I thought I might keep this in my collection, but it needs to go to someone who will play it more often. Made in LA in 1979, and it's a fantastic player!

No redrot in the leadpipe, which is incredibly rare for a Benge of this vintage. The valve compression is excellent, it measures like a new modern trumpet. There are a couple dings in the bell that we'll have taken out before shipment at no additional fee. There are some small inconsistencies in the lacquer, but it's truly a magnificent horn.

Slightly larger flare bell, but not really like a Bach 72 bell. This Benge has a lot more crispness in the sound and response. The 5th partial intonation is very good (D, Eb, and E at the top of the staff). That can sometimes be a problem area on Benge trumpets.

The 5X is a super lightweight horn, including the leadpipe. The thinner metal is part of what makes these horns more susceptible to redrot without proper care. Just make sure to dry out the leadpipe after playing, using a swab or the wonderful BlowDry Brass system, and this horn should have a long life ahead of it.
