After 15 years of technical studies and planning and 2.5 years of construction, Greenstone Gold Mine poured first gold on May 22nd, 2024! To celebrate this achievement, Equinox Gold's team is cycling 3,634 km from its corporate office in Vancouver, BC to its new Greenstone Mine in Geraldton, Ontario.

The Ride to Greenstone, an epic 3,634 km bike relay from Vancouver, BC to Geraldton, Ontario, took place from August 5, 2024, to August 28, 2024, celebrating the official opening of the Company’s new Greenstone Mine. The focus of the ride was to raise money for the Geraldton District Hospital, which serves a 2,767-km² region in Northern Ontario, including five Indigenous communities and the Greenstone Mine workforce. Equinox Gold’s mine sites in California, Mexico, and Brazil also sent cyclists to join this expedition, while organizing various events to raise funds for charities in their local communities, uniting the Company’s global workforce, contractors, and suppliers in support of the communities in which we work.

Many thanks to the Ride to Greenstone Gold Sponsors—Sandstorm Gold Royalties, Cloutier Contracting, Franco-Nevada, Orion Resource Partners, and Equinox Gold’s Board of Directors—who each donated more than C$100,000 to the Geraldton District Hospital. The Ride to Greenstone raised over C$1.3 million for the hospital and more than $200,000 for schools and hospitals in Brazil and the Alzheimer’s Association of California. The funds will support critical healthcare and education initiatives in these regions, ensuring lasting benefits for the communities.
