Want Foxgloves and Perennials Foxglove to bloom in their very first year? Today we are starting our January seeds, including hard-to-source foxglove varieties and hybrid Foxgloves that don't make you wait until year two for flowers! Or at least that is what I am hoping for.
In this episode of the European Garden Journal, I’m getting a head start on the 2026 season. We’re sowing:
Hybrid Foxgloves (Digitalis Purpurea F1) :
Camelot Cream
Dottie Peach
Camelot Lavender
These are bred to flower in their first year.
A few hard to find perennial foxglove:
Digitalis Ferruginea Gigantea
Digitalis Lutea "Small Yellow"
Digitalis Lanata "Cafe Creme"
Digitalis Thapsi "Spanish Peaks"
I can't wait to see in the garden.
Verbascum: A vertical masterpiece for any border.
I also take you along for a quick "Rescue Mission" on some clearance pansies I found at the store. A little tidy-up goes a long way to bringing these back to life!
