(4K) 1HR Watching Airplanes Chicago Midway Int'l Airport - Plane Spotting, Southwest Airlines, etc.

Only the BEST planespotting from Chicago Midway 2/21/2020.

Pick up your stride for a visit to the South Side. The South Side of Chicago. Where the jets is a lot of blue, and there's room for you. Room for you to now be free and move about the country. A sunny day in America's midway, at the 5 runway airport complex jammed into a city block. Rockin' in the gusty wind of the Windy City's gritty neighborhood grids.

Most of you know that Chicago boasts not one, but two major commercial airports and that the SWA heart is conspicuously absent from all my ORD videos since they don't fly to O'Hare, instead electing to play it cool where the landing fees are on the down low and the longest runway is a smidge over 6,500 ft long. I spend most of my time at Chicago O'Hare where there are lots of heavy jets and variety but I also have a special place in my heart for Chicago's rough and tumble Midway International Airport KMDW/MDW where Southwest Airlines reigns as king. I grew up seeing the tan and blue of SWA almost as much as I saw the Tulip of United and Eagle of American and certinly flew the LUV carrier more often. I have many happy memories watching the colorful Boeing 737 hot rods of LUV race across the western Chicagoland suburbs, winging west into the sunset.

Mark Brandon of YouTube panespotter fame recently paid me a visit and we did some watching the metal fly at Midway and O'Hare together. This is a new location for me, but one I think I may return to a few times more in future. Great vantage point for watching Runway 22L/22R action at MDW. If you have not checked out Mark's fabulous planespotting YouTube channel I would advise you to make haste to give his content a look. Marvelous stuff from Montreal, Canada and some surrounding locations especially. Here is a link for his channel.

Can't have a video on the South Side of Chicago without a few trains wandering through the
experience and this vid is true to form.

ABOUT LIVEATC...
This location may well be a great one for adding LiveAtc to the video. I didn't this time since Mark wanted to listen to ATC but I couldn't get our apps to sync up so in most cases it would create a weird echo which would be annoying to listen to. In future I may add it though.
