How to Study Science | Tips for Studying Science Effectively

Science is generally considered a hard subject because of the difficulty that lies in the concepts of science.A lot of times students generally presumed that this topic and that chapter is hard to understand.All the chapters and topics are easy if you study them properly. So, don’t make any false assumptions before starting.

In this video, I gave you some tips on how to study Science effectively

i) Read the topics in advance
To understand the science thoroughly, Read the topic one day before the day when you are going to be taught, even if you don’t understand it but this will help you to understand it better after the teacher taught you.

ii) Write key points
While reading, try to develop a habit of writing key points. It will help you to actively participate in the learning process.

iii) Understand the concepts
For the physics portion, understanding the concepts is very important. If you properly understand the concept, you will able to solve the numerical easily. Even for the chemistry portion, you can try to understand how the reaction takes place and then try to make its chemical equations.

iv) Associate concepts in biology
While studying biology associate concepts with what you already know. By associating things with each other, it will become much easier to understand and will last longer in your brain than learning new information.

v) Study according to weightage
Students generally spent a lot of time on learning topics that don’t have more weightage in the exam. So, it’s important to know the test format and your study material. This will not only save your time but it will also help you to cover what is really important from exam point of view.

vi) Study in a distraction-free area
As we already know Science is a subject that demands more concentration. So, it’s very important to study in a distraction-free area or you can choose any place where you can concentrate better.

vii) Highlight scientific words
During Study, if you find any scientific term or word, highlight it and write its meaning. So, when you read it again you will find it easier to understand.

viii) Relate with practical things
Always try to relate what you have learned with practical things around you. This will help you to retain complex topics in your mind easily. Generally, students unable to relate what they are studying with practical things which makes some topics hard to understand.

ix) Recall what you have studied
After you finished a chapter, take some time to recall what you have studied in the chapter, try to answer the questions by yourself and then read explanations to see whether you were correct or not.

x) Review chapter after some days
After some days, again review the chapter & check whether you can answer all the questions or not. Reviewing also helps to retain information longer in your mind.

xi) Practice numerical
The only way to solve the numerical faster and accurately is practice. Practice numerical from NCRT books and sample papers.

xii) Make short notes
Make short notes which are in the form of flow chart, because flow charts are easy to learn and remember. You can also make short notes for complex concepts in bullet points which are easier to understand and revise during exams.
