Workers' Party (WP) chief and Leader of the Opposition Pritam Singh gave oral evidence to the Committee of Privileges (COP) on Dec 10, as it looks into a complaint that former WP member of Parliament Raeesah Khan breached parliamentary privilege. Video recordings of Mr Singh's appearance before the COP were released on Sunday (Dec 12). This is the first of 4 videos.
Mr Singh testified to the Committee of Privileges that he didn’t ask Raeesah Khan to take her lie “to the grave”, but he also didn’t direct her to tell the truth on multiple occasions, according to a COP report.
The WP chief also disagreed that the police would be adversely impacted by Raeesah Khan’s lie in Parliament on alleged mishandling of sexual assault case. READ: https://cna.asia/3lWoWcu
