"বানঝাক্রি" নামটি স্থানীয় কিংবদন্তি থেকে উদ্ভূত যেখানে বাঞ্জাক্রি ছিলেন একজন জ্ঞানী ব্যক্তি যিনি নিরাময়ের জন্য বনজ উদ্ভিদ ব্যবহার করতেন এবং যুবকদের নিজেরাই নিরাময়কারী হওয়ার জন্য পরামর্শ দিতেন।

এই পার্কটির পরিকল্পনা করেছিলেন সিকিমের মুখ্যমন্ত্রী, যিনি রাঙ্কা মঠ পরিদর্শনের সময় জলপ্রপাতটি পরিদর্শন করেছিলেন।

এই পার্কটিকে এনার্জি পার্কও বলা হয় কারণ এতে শিশুদের ব্যবহৃত স্লাইড এবং দোলনা থেকে সৌরশক্তি পাওয়া যায়।

এই পার্কে বানঝাক্রি, লিয়াম লিময়, মাঙ্গপাস এবং লেপচার পূর্বপুরুষদের মূর্তি রয়েছে, যা স্থানীয় লোককাহিনী এবং রীতিনীতি প্রদর্শন করে।
ফুটব্রিজ:
জলপ্রপাতের উপর নির্মিত একটি ফুটওভার ব্রিজ আকর্ষণকে আরও বাড়িয়ে তোলে এবং জলপ্রপাতের একটি অনন্য দৃষ্টিভঙ্গি প্রদান করে।

The Banjhakri Falls and Energy Park near Gangtok, Sikkim, is a tourist attraction showcasing the local tradition of the Banjhakri, a traditional shaman or healer. "Banjhakri" translates to "forest healer," reflecting the belief in a shamanistic figure who lived in the forest and possessed healing powers. The park, developed on 2 acres of forestland, features statues and displays that depict these shamanic traditions.

The name "Banjhakri" is rooted in local legends where the Banjhakri was a wise man who used forest plants for healing and mentored young men to become healers themselves. 

Cultural Significance:

The park aims to revive interest in the traditional shamanic beliefs and practices of the Sikkimese people, celebrating their culture and traditions. 

Development:

The park was conceived by the Chief Minister of Sikkim, who visited the falls during a visit to Ranka Monastery. 

Energy Park:

The park is also called the Energy Park because it incorporates solar energy from slides and swings used by children.

The park features statues of Banjhakri, Lyam Lymay, Mangpas, and Lepcha ancestors, showcasing local folklore and customs.

Footbridge:

A footbridge built over a water stream adds to the attraction and provides a unique perspective of the waterfall.

The falls are a natural cascade, and the surrounding lush greenery enhances the beauty of the park.
