The Buffalo Sabres beat the New York Rangers 8-2 on February 22, 2025. The Sabres held a strong lead after scoring five goals in the first period. Jack Quinn scored first with a wrist shot between the pads of Igor Shesterkin. Rasmus Dahlin notched the second goal, off a redirect on a shot by Jordan Greenway. Tage Thompson and Ryan McLeod followed suit, scoring goals three and four. Dahlin notched his second of the night to close the first period. After a brief two-goal pushback from the Rangers in the second, Thompson and McLeod both scored their second goals of the night in the third to solidify the Sabres' strong lead. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen made 28 saves in the matchup.
