But today I’m on a solo mission to explore a deserted medieval village on Dartmoor itself and look at a few metal detecting finds of the period in a Medieval setting. And trust me to pick a major storm day to load my adventure with extra effort!

This is Hound Tor, and the settlement that was abandoned in the 1300’s. I’ve used English Heritage maps and guide notes to help me understand this place. Please note: metal detecting is of course strictly forbidden on scheduled monuments and on Dartmoor generally. This vid is to understand how our ancestors lived and worked in conditions we can only imagine by being there in a storm ☔️ 😂
