The last day of passenger operation of the Birmingham Cross City Class 323 EMU’s was on 27th September 2024. On this last day one diagram operated between Lichfield and Bromsgrove, the final honours going to 323222 & 323240.
The last diagram in daylight was (southbound) 2O46 the 1609 Lichfield TV to Bromsgrove and shortly after northbound 2P51 the 1729 Bromsgrove to Lichfield TV.
The southbound working to Bromsgrove is seen powering through Barnt Green non stop and then shortly after on its northbound journey stopping to pick up.
Views then on board of the interior of 323240 between Barnt Green and Bournville before a rousing departure with some horn tones as the 323’s ride off into the sunset.
