Ford C-Series Leach Sanicruiser Garbage Truck On Route!

Well I know for a fact that all you classic truck lovers will get a kick out of this video for sure! This was the first Ford C-Series I’ve filmed, along with the first Sanicruiser as well! I’d like to start off by thanking Jaime Wacker for letting me film and ride along, honesty made the video 1000 percent cooler!

It’s crazy to think that back in the 80’s, hundreds of these roamed Portland, as there were so many companies, due to it being open market. It’s incredible that in 2021, only one remains. Wacker Sanitary has been notorious for classic trucks, and they definitely uphold the Portland garbage truck stereotype. Lodals, rear load commercial, now Labries, and yes, a Sanicruiser.

The truck itself is a 1987, and it shows! You’ll notice in the video, the classic dash, the classic sounds (airbrakes are the best part), and the white smoke as it turns on in the garage. All parts that make a good video for sure! It’s also good to point out that there aren’t too many videos of Leach Sanicruisers on YouTube, and this is the first one doing commercial dumpsters, especially with the “NW” style kick bar. You will also notice that he is doing his cardboard route, which he does every week, but I believe the new truck is being used more often. Either way, I was extremely lucky to have found this. The whole route was filmed and is in this video, so there really are only 3-4 stops for cardboard, and obviously at the end when he is dumping, that cardboard has been sitting for a while.
