Foggy Start As We Ride To The West Coast Through Arthurs Pass

We ride from Woodend to Hokitika crossing the Southern Alps on SH73 through Arthurs Pass on a clear February morning after a foggy start while enjoying some spectacular views along the perfectly named Great Alpine Highway.
This was our first full day of touring in the South Island and after an early start riding through some dense fog we met with the remainder of our touring crew in Springfield. Our initial entourage was 8 bikes: 3 from the North Island and 5 from the South Island. After leaving Springfield it was like stepping through another door with bright sunshine, dry roads and clear visibility as we travelled along SH73 enjoying stunning views as we crossed the Southern Alps heading to the West Coast before arriving at Hokitika where we stopped for an early lunch and this is where this weeks video ends. We will pick it up next week as we complete the days journey riding from Hokitika down to Haast so come on back to carry on the South Island tour with us.
