Derby is the most inland city being the furthest from any coast. With a strong history of industry and architecture, both of which are on the decline due to various reasons. This video was taken to document some of the buildings set for demolition in the near future. The Queen's Leisure centre has an exquisite Victorian ceiling, but as it needs an expensive roof repair, the council will probably demolish the old building to make way for new 'housing'.
The Assembly Rooms, was Paul Weller's favourite intimate concert venue, had a fire a few years ago, and despite getting a £10m grant from the government, the council have 're-directed' that to repair 2 smaller theatres and demolish the AR.
