Nowness partners up with Jim Longden again to present, "Madhouse".
"This short film originally existed as a storyline interwoven within a music video. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, we were asked to remove that narrative. The cinematography — masterfully crafted in a near-wizardly fashion by our cinematographer, who single-handedly lit, loaded, and operated the camera — produced imagery we deeply adored. It felt both banal and unjust to let these scenes vanish into the archive of obscurity.
With that in mind, and with great enjoyment, I assembled this standalone piece — whatever one might wish to call it — and paired it with a song by Bo Diddley, a piece of music I had long dreamt of using for a narrative film sequence.
Personally, filming this scene truly emphasised to me how a crew of just three people can create something beguiling when driven by determination and care. With the actions unfolding amid the locations of Paris, we all worked in harmony to shape what is now titled "Madhouse"."
