Thomas Meinecke of very reflected, political and idiosyncratic german band F.S.K. (since 1980, to this day), interviewed during their 3rd time recording at the studio of David Lowery (Camper van Beethoven, Cracker) in Richmond/Virginia, who is producing and has been a member of F.S.K. as well. Meinecke reflects on the history of the band and their interest in european folk music traditions like polkas and walzes, what became of them when they came to the USA, and how they relate to these musics and what happens to them when they work them into their own repertoire. Meinecke coined the term "transatlantic feedback" for these phenomena. (We will soon also upload footage from F.S.K. rehearsals and recordings at Lowery`s studio as well as some concerts in NYC and other places in the US after recordings were finished).
