Born on October 14, 1969, in Río Piedras, Puerto Rico, was a dedicated professional baseball catcher and coach whose career spanned over three decades. After graduating from Luis Hernaiz Verone High School in Canóvanas, Puerto Rico, he pursued collegiate baseball at Paris Junior College and Ranger College in Texas. Ortiz passed away on February 28, 2024, at the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona, at the age of 54.


Juan José Jaime Hernández
Affectionately known as "El Lápiz," was born on August 2, 1987, in San Cristóbal, Dominican Republic. He embarked on his professional baseball journey in December 2004 when he signed as an amateur free agent with the Montreal Expos, just before the franchise transitioned into the Washington Nationals. Tragically, on December 27, 2024, Jaime passed away from a heart attack at the age of 37.
