On this flight, I was heading back from Eau Claire, Wisconsin. I had some pro pilots who needed repositioning for a jet, and I gladly flew them over to log some time. On the way back, I had to deal with some moderate to heavy rain showers. The good news is that I was chasing them on the back side and found a perfect gap that allowed me to slip in with minimal delay. This video is a great example at how helpful ATC can be when you are dealing with weather. Come along for the ride!
As always, just a reminder that this video is not instructional, and I’m not a certified flight instructor (CFI). A lot of footage has been edited out for brevity, but I always make sure to follow checklists and safety protocols.
