The Apeejay Kolkata Literary Festival, Kolkata was inaugurated by Mira Nair on the 11th of January '18 whose Cannes Film Festival-feted Salaam Bombay will complete 30 years of making. The Indian American filmmaker based in New York City discussed her experience in the industry in the past thirty years in three continents as a documentary maker and feature film director.
Mira Nair is best known for her movies like - Academy Award nominated 'Salaam Bombay!', the Golden Lion-winning 'Monsoon Wedding', 'Mississippi Masala', 'The Namesake' and 'Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love'. She gave an interesting insight into most of her films, also pitching forward compelling anecdotes.
