A high-speed train chase through the desert ends with Player and Veteran narrowly escaping a group of outlaws, only to stumble into something much worse. After taking refuge at a seemingly abandoned fort, they find themselves surrounded by zombie soldiers — victims of a mysterious substance called Agent-15. Their search for answers leads them through disturbing flashbacks of a failed military experiment, including the downfall of Captain Prescott and the contamination of the USS Maine. The deeper they dig, the clearer it becomes that Agent-15 is behind the outbreak sweeping across the land. With fuel running low and danger on every track, they make a desperate stop at the Tesla factory. But instead of salvation, they awaken a monstrous creation: Tesla himself, fused into a mutant machine body. Now hunted by the very inventor of the virus, the two must fight their way out before becoming the next victims of this spiraling catastrophe.
