Heading out of Joshua Tree National Park north entrance, the only road east had started to wash out. The VFR1200X is not particularly an adventure bike. It's heavy wtih road tyres fitted.
Sand was getting washed onto the tarmac by the rushing water which was making sand banks beneath the surface. The road may have washed away or cracked so it was time to go paddling to check.
It was a matter of ride through or do a long detour back through the National Park south and round.
The flood doesn't look too bad on camera but the strength of the water and the speed at which conditions were changing around me, it was clear to me that it could get serious quickly so I turned around and went back through the torrent for the detour.
