City leaders and East Central advocates gather to celebrate the grand opening of Fire Station 12 with a flag raising ceremony, water cannon salute, and a new apparatus push in ceremony. The new three-bay station will replace the two-bay station built in 1960. Station 12 has a response area of 8.1 square miles which includes Interstate 40, the commercial occupancies of the East Central Corridor, and many neighborhoods including Four Hills, Buena Ventura and South Juan Tabo. Station 12 is currently home to Engine 12 and Rescue 12 which are consistently some of AFR’s busiest apparatus.
