We wanted something we could travel cross country and haul our dual sport motorcycles in but we couldn't afford a RV/ toy hauler. We bought a used box truck and turned it into a tiny house on wheels. This DIY camper only took about six weeks to complete. We used camo tan Plasti-Dip to paint the cab and had the color matched at Lowes with exterior house paint for the box. We used black wheel paint for the trim and wheels and ordered the Transformer decals locally. We will be adding two 100 watt solar panels to the roof to run mini-fridge and TV for longer road trips. If you want your own homemade RV or you're looking for something to haul your motorcycles in, this is a great option for a DIY project. Our total cost was around $7,000.
