This video will cover the differences between project and portfolio management software, the capabilities of each, the types of project management software, and the types of portfolio management software. We will also provide some suggestions for considering the right project management software.
There are four primary types of project tools available:
1) Light project management - Ideal for users that do not have deep project management experience but need a simple yet solid work management tool to track tasks
2) Agile project management - Users predominantly use an Agile project methodology and/or a Kanban approach
3) Standard project management - the primary users have enough experience to leverage a more robust Project Management tool set and Project Managers need more robust functionality than simple task-based tools provide
4) Project and Portfolio Management Tools - software that provides enough project and portfolio management functionality in a single solution
