Weekend walk in the City of London - Leadenhall Market, Lombard Street Bank of England, Royal Exchange, Queen Victoria Street, Watling Street and St Pauls Cathedral.
The City of London on the weekend is nothing like it is on a weekday. Its quieter, more tourists and not an office worker in sight. It doesnt have the same buzz, but you do get the sights mostly to yourself.
Starting at St Helens Church, it's few minutes walk to Leadenhall Market. There is a craft fair on today making it busier than usual. However, down an innocuous side street (currently with scaffolding) we spot the entrance to The Leaky Cauldron used in the filming of the first Harry Potter movie. From Leadenhall Market we weave through the city streets, to the historic Bank of England and Royal Exchange contrasting with the modern sky scrapers behind it. The gentle Watling Street leads us to the grand St Pauls Cathedral where we end our short walk for today.
Scenic Rambles is the perfect channel for armchair explorers, students, or remote workers seeking a calming backdrop while they study or work. Every Sunday, I share a video showcasing my adventures around London and the UK. So, take a moment to unwind, slow your pace, and let yourself be transported by some stunning scenery.
I would love to hear your suggestions in the comments for other walks or locations you'd like me to explore.
