Welcome to my review of SHFiguarts Walter [ウォルター] from Tokkei Winspector [特警ウインスペクター]!

If you checked in with me last time, I took an overdue look at SHF Bikel from Winspector. Despite Bandai's horrid attempts to sell that figure, the finished product turned out to be pretty excellent. What I think happened was that a lot of resellers preordered Bikel and ended up with a figure that nobody really wanted. I say this because Walter is a $150 figure now. I'm not joking. Nobody bought it. I imagine resellers didn't want to be stuck with it and Bandai more or less killed off SHFiguarts Metal Hero as a result. It's quite the tragedy considering the plans they had in place going forward (Mad Gallant, Spielban, Metalder, Janperson, BF Kabuto, and Robotack were all previewed). Poor Walter... The brutal irony is that Walter's pose is basically a massive shrug like "Eh. What are you gonna do?". How about we take a look at what very well could have been the main factor in the demise of Metal Hero SHFiguarts.

SHF Walter (or Highter if you happen to be in Brazil) comes with his Datric M2, Dislider, two oil cans, and several extra hands. The Dislider can be used as a shield or worn as wings on his back.

It shouldn't be much of a surprise that this is a great figure. Flawless details and a great likeness. I actually might like Walter the best out of all three of the Winspector Figuarts (with Fire being my least favorite). Well done.

That said, this suffers some of the same issues that Bikel does. The crappy preview images on the site didn't help, and of course being light on accessories doesn't do it any favors. Also...and this is truly bizarre...eagle-eyed viewers may have spotted the lack of copyright info on the bottom right foot. Weird. Does your figure have it, or is mine a one-off mistake?

I kinda feel bad. This is a good Figuart that never really had it's moment. Bandai really really REALLY screwed up the Winspector SHF release. Bikel and Walter should have been sold as a set...no question. They must have thought this release was a great idea and then got cold feet after it was too late. I totally recommend this figure but please, for the love of god, try to find yourself a deal...

There is one more SHF Winspector video left! Next time I will be looking at the Full Package Option Set. It took a full day to film it...but it was worth it!
