It's easy to print and apply your own decals to scale models using only normal paper, not expensive specialised decal paper. It's an easy technique, and the results are especially good for a weathered, worn effect. Now there is a trade-off, it's not perfect and the results are not as good as real waterslide decals, but it's good to know as a backup technique and it might be just the thing to get you out of a problem situation some time!
