The Doors - Love Her Madly (KD Remix 2024)

This is a fan-made remix. I remember hearing this song for the first time when I went to see an All About Eve concert at the Hacienda (before the Hacienda became a loss making dance mecca with overflowing toilets and gangsters controlling the door). I think The Shamen were supporting All About Eve and had been hitting kettle drums and some shouting (again well before they became really famous with a series of dance hits). I knew it was The Doors as Jim Morrison's vocals were unmistakable. I was hooked. It's probably one of my favourite songs of all time. So much so, I have sung it at various karoake sessions around the world (well, Spain and Turkey).

This single was released in the UK in 1971, but it didn't chart in the top 75. However, it did chart at number 11 in the US Billboard singles charts and number 3 in Canada. For more details about the song check out...

Some may its sacrilege to do a synth version of a classic song. I guess it depends on who is listening, but I want to understand the songs I love and this is a way for me to do it. Having done this particular song, it is clear what a tight and well rehearsed band The Doors were/are - no doubt due to their hotel residency live performances that went on for hours!

Anyhow, The Doors - an incredible band and perhaps if they had not existed we would not have so many great bands to listen to today from goth, post punk, psychedelic - their impact on music is huge. Thanks for the music.
