Coating Homogeneity and Troubleshooting | FT-IR Microscopy | Surface Analysis LUMOS II

In this video we analyze coated cartridge razor blades and assess the homogeneity and distribution of the organic coating. In this particular case, the coating shows aggregation into hotspots and not the desired, even distribution across the metal razor blade.

But as the are meant for immediate human use, quality control of these blades is important to provide a safe customer experience. Our applications scientist uses the LUMOS II, Bruker’s state-of-the-art infrared microscope.
